Ultra Music

Ultra Music is the #1 independent dance music label in North America representing artists such as Kygo, Sofi Tukker, Black Coffee, Benny Benassi, Flosstradamus, and more.

In 2011, I was brought on to be the internal creative point person and to lead design for the label at a time when Electronic Dance Music was entering its Golden Era. DJs were becoming household names, festivals were popping up all around the world and dance music was entering the mainstream.

As the Art Director and Creative Producer, I worked across all business units and most closely with the marketing, digital and business development teams. I also worked directly with the artists and their teams on a daily basis. Some of those artists include Steve Aoki, deadmau5, Kaskade, Omi, Above & Beyond, Calvin Harris, Tiësto, and Deorro. I was responsible for creative direction and design, which included working on albums, artwork, packaging, invites, promotional materials, merchandise, brand assets, and more.

In addition to design-related responsibilities, I quarterbacked all domestic and international releases – coordinating teams around the globe in order to secure placements, hit deadlines and reach sales goals. I also helped curate track lists, cast talent, and build out relationships with business partners including ADA, Sony, Sony Red, Bandmerch, Famehouse, various music production studios, and more.
